So. Much. Good. Food.
Besides spending time with my family and having slow mornings with my momma where we sip coffee, watch the Today show and make elaborate breakfasts….I also love home because the food just tastes better.
My momma cooks and even if I make the same things at my apartment, it just tastes better at home. We’ve been baking cookies and bars and peanut butter balls and more cookies and peppermint bark and more cookies. All that to say, I’m well fed here.
All the food and gifts and parties and all that jazz are wonderful and it’s easy to get sucked into this world with the hustle and bustle of the season and forget what we’re actually celebrating. I’ve been reading through the She Reads Truth Advent plan with Whitney this year and more than any year before, my heart is full with excitement and anticipation for Christmas. And not because of the gifts or because of the food (I can get very excited about all the good food) but because of the One who was born and walked this Earth so we could walk this same Earth covered in love and freedom and grace and mercy. That excites me!
Merry, merry Christmas!
